BENEFITS TO SCHOLARS

  • The Program will provide the infrastructure necessary to support skill development for careers in clinical research.

  • The scholars in the program will have access to a core curriculum of didactic courses, focused research didactic courses, special program series, retreats, and mentored research opportunities. Most of the scholars’ time should be focused on the mentored research experience. One or two didactic courses will be offered each semester.

  • Mentored research experiences will optimize scholars’ opportunities to succeed in clinical research.

  • Scholars completing the program will earn a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research Skills.

  • The 12 credits from the Graduate Certificate may be applied to any of the MS in CTS track programs at the University of Kentucky (see Master of Science).

Accepted scholars will be eligible to apply for a seed grant of up to $5000 available for up to 12 months within 12 months of being accepted into the program.  These funds will be awarded to the scholar's mentor to help jump-start the mentored research training program (see Seed Grant).
